Chris Gilbert, CEO
Chris has a formidable track record in the communications industry. As CEO at IPWireless, he transformed the company from a niche, wireless broadband player into a mainstream cellular provider. The company was a Red Herring Top 100 Private Company, an Always On Top Innovator and was awarded Network Magazine Wireless Product of the Year.

Previously Chris held senior roles with Motorola where he managed the company's cellular infrastructure business in some 60 EMEA countries.

Will Franks, Founder & CTO
Will co-founded Ubiquisys in 2004 inspired by his frustrations of poor mobile coverage and high mobile costs at home. Prior to this, he developed the hugely successful wireless innovation centres for Lucent Technologies – inventing and developing innovative solutions based on cellular, WiFi and IMS technologies. He also led Lucent’s EMEA business development for fixed wireless.

Previously Will was with Racal Electronics' radio division where he held a number of key positions including head of their Saudi Arabian operation. More recently Will pioneered the creation of the Femto Forum to bring direction and a voice to the industry.

Fraser Park, CFO
Fraser is an experienced CFO having held similar roles in a wide range of fast-growing technology businesses. He has been a lead member of executive teams that have grown profitably through organic and acquisitive activities, leading IPO and business disposal processes to generate substantial value creation for shareholders. Previous CFO roles include Psion, Tandberg Television and a number of smaller, early-stage technology ventures. An alumnus of McKinsey and Co. Inc, where he was an active member of the Corporate finance practice, Fraser qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen and has an honours degree in accountancy and finance.

Pete Keevill, Founder & VP Engineering
Pete is an experienced technical leader with a proven track record in the delivery of complex development programmes in the wireless and semiconductor sectors. Pete was 11 years at Lucent Technologies where, as Technical Director, he had global responsibility for Lucent’s UMTS base station ASIC development activity, co-ordinating a multi-disciplinary engineering team of around 100 people in five countries.

Prior to the UMTS position, Pete was a project leader for a CDMA fixed wireless product. More recently, he has been successfully running his own consultancy and has also developed a successful conference business focused on the base station market. Before Lucent, Pete led a digital TV silicon design team for Pioneer, and has worked in a variety of roles in the EDA software industry. Pete holds a MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath.

Richard Staveley, VP Global Sales
Richard has 17 years management experience in sales and marketing roles in the military and telecommunications industries. Before Ubiquisys, he worked for IPWireless as VP Sales & Business Development and Motorola as Business Development Director, Global Accounts.

Richard earned his MBA from the University of Bath Business School and his BA from King’s College London. After King’s College, Richard attended the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, where he completed officer training.

Paul Phillipson, VP Programme Delivery
Paul has a long track record of success in delivering complex high value telecoms equipment programmes. He has extensive international business experience in supplying major mobile network operators and is a seasoned Executive and General Manager. Paul has led a series of high profile new product and technology introduction, development and delivery projects including major equipment manufacturers and mobile network operators.

Before joining Ubiquisys Paul ran an independent consultancy (projects included Cisco/AT&T Femto technology introduction)and before that was General Manager of Lucent Technologies W-CDMA BSR product unit (Femto and Small Cells products), General Manager of Lucent Technologies GSM Product Unit where he led the delivery of the first commercial GPRS network, and previously held senior positions with GEC Plessey Semiconductors (CMOS VLSI) and Chelton Ltd (Aerospace Systems).

Andrea Giustina, VP Systems Engineering
Andrea was a central part of the first engineering team at Ubiquisys and leads the company’s system design, technical sales, product management and solution architecture activities.

With 20 years of experience in telecoms, he previously held senior management positions in Lucent Technologies in systems engineering and professional services for GPRS, UMTS and IMS technologies and was a researcher for Telecom Italia.

Andrea holds a Doctor degree in Electronics Engineering, a Telecommunications master and an MBA from Bath University.

Keith Day, VP Marketing
Keith has 20 years marketing leadership experience in the IT and telecommunications industry, spanning software, hardware, managed services and outsourcing.

Before joining Ubiquisys, Keith was Director of Product Marketing for UK telecoms software pioneer Cramer Systems, where he was responsible for business positioning and communications worldwide. In 2006 Cramer was acquired by Amdocs (NYSE: DOX) in one of the biggest ever deals involving a European software business.

Previously, Keith was EMEA Marketing Director at Unisys (NYSE: UIS) and European Regional Marketing Director at BMC Software (NYSE: BMC).

Patrick Gallagher – Chairman Patrick is also on the Board of Harmonics Inc, Ciena Corp and a member of the Board of Sollers Auto, a major Russian RTS listed automobile company.

Until 2009 Patrick was Chairman of Macro4 Plc, a global software solutions provider. Until 2008 he was Vice Chairman of Golden Telecom Inc where he was also Chairman of the Special Committee which led the sale of Golden Telecom to Vimpelcom. From 2004 until 2007 he was a member of the Supervisory Board of Getronics NV which was sold to KPN in 2007.

From 2003 to 2006, Patrick was Executive Co Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FLAG Telecom Group, which owned and managed an extensive sub sea optical fibre network spanning four continents and serving global business markets. Patrick led the sale of the company to Reliance Industries of India and remained as non-executive Vice Chairman until 2007.

Previously, Patrick had a 17-year career with British Telecommunications plc (BT). He was President of BT Europe from 1996 to 2000 with operational responsibility for 12 equity joint venture companies and five subsidiaries. Subsequently, he sat on BT’s Executive Committee as Group Strategy and Development Director.  

Patrick is a graduate of Warwick University with a degree in Economics and Industry.

Barry Fidelman – Atlas Venture Barry Fidelman is a Venture Partner in the technology group. He joined Atlas Venture in 1988 after working in executive positions for three venture-backed start-up companies (Data General, Apollo Computer and Alliant Computer) that completed successful IPOs.

Barry sat on the boards of Isilon Systems, which completed an IPO in 2006 and was acquired by EMC in 2010; and Arbor Networks, which was acquired by Techtronix in 2010. He was a founding investor in GeoTel, which completed an IPO in 1991 and was later acquired by Cisco in 1999; Revit, which was acquired by Autodesk in 2002; Vermeer, which was acquired by Microsoft in 1996; and PCs Compleat, which was acquired by COMPUSA in 1996. Barry has also served on the Boards of Castle Networks, acquired by Siemens in 1999; Omnia Communications, acquired by Ciena Corp. in 1999; FutureTense, acquired by OpenMarket in 1999; and Chipcom Europe, which completed an IPO in 1991 and was sold to 3COM in 1995.

Barry also sits on the boards of Atlas companies Icera, Lilliputian Systems and CLK Design Automation. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSEE from MIT.

Frédéric Court – Advent Venture Partners Frédéric joined Advent in 2001 and is involved with several early and later stage technology investments in Europe. His areas of focus are mobile communications, digital media, enterprise software and internet services.

Frédéric joined Advent from ETEXX, a VC-backed e-collaboration software and online services company which he co-founded in France in 1999. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Frédéric spent six years in corporate finance at Lazard in London, Milan and New York where he focused on advising clients in the telecommunications and technology sectors, being involved in transactions worth over $100bn.

Prior to Lazard, he spent 18 months working for Société Générale in Milan. Frédéric is a graduate of ESSEC, the leading French Business School, and Bocconi University in Milan. He speaks French, English, Italian and Spanish.

Sonali De Rycker – Accel Partners Sonali focuses on investments in the internet, digital media and software markets. Prior to Accel, Sonali was a Partner at Atlas Venture in London where she invested primarily in internet businesses for 8 years. Before joining Atlas Venture, Sonali was a member of Deutsche Bank's Venture Group in London. Sonali started her career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York City where she was actively involved in M&A and financings for a number of clients including many high growth technology businesses.

Martin Bornhäusser – 5 Continents Consulting Group Michael Bornhäusser is a successful entrepreneur and founder of 5CCG. He has been active in the media industry for more than 20 years and is one of the pioneers of internet and mobile digital media.
