Who We Are and What We Do: Ubiquisys Femtocell Technology UK
Formed in 2004, Ubiquisys is a femtocell industry pioneer and specialises in femtocell access points. The company has mass-market deployments with SoftBank in Japan and with SFR in France. Ubiquisys is a company of firsts: the first free femtocell, the first open-access femtocell, the first IMS femtocell, the first femtocell network, and the first rural and metro femtocells.
At the heart of Ubiquisys femtocells is Femto-Engine software, which provides a range of unique capabilities:
Ubiquisys also provides hardware blueprints to device manufacturers, to fast-track the production of new femtocell variants and drive down wholesale prices. In December 2009 the company announced the first residential femtocell for less than $100.
With Ubiquisys, a single investment in femtocell infrastructure provides an unrivalled range of femtocells: residential, enterprise, enterprise femto network, indoor open space, outdoor rural and metro.
This diverse and expanding range of femtocells is rapidly realising the Ubiquisys founding vision, that femtocells will evolve to create a low-cost complementary network, adding huge swathes of intelligent capacity.
Ubiquisys investors include tier 1 VCs, T-Mobile and Google. The company has assembled a formidable IPR portfolio, and counts Nokia Siemens Networks, NEC and Ericsson among its engagement partners.
