Formed in 2004, Ubiquisys is a femtocell industry pioneer and specialises in femtocell access points. The company has mass-market deployments with SoftBank in Japan and with SFR in France. Ubiquisys is a company of firsts: the first free femtocell, the first open-access femtocell, the first IMS femtocell, the first femtocell network, and the first rural and metro femtocells.

At the heart of Ubiquisys femtocells is Femto-Engine software, which provides a range of unique capabilities:

Adaptive Radio Resource Management (RRM) Our femtocells eliminate interference problems: vital for shared spectrum and high density deployments.
Femtocell intelligence Our femtocells make autonomous decisions on individual calls, enabling data offload, local media sharing, phone interaction and presence apps.
Femtocell Self-Organising Network (SON) Our femtocells communicate over a LAN to form and maintain a seamless femto network with automatic handovers and load-balancing.

Ubiquisys also provides hardware blueprints to device manufacturers, to fast-track the production of new femtocell variants and drive down wholesale prices. In December 2009 the company announced the first residential femtocell for less than $100.

With Ubiquisys, a single investment in femtocell infrastructure provides an unrivalled range of femtocells: residential, enterprise, enterprise femto network, indoor open space, outdoor rural and metro.
