Intrinsyc & Ubiquisys to Demonstrate UX-Zone(TM) “Chameleon-like” Femtocell Application at Symbian Exchange and Exposition 2009

London - Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX: ICS), a leading provider of software solutions for mobile devices, and Ubiquisys, the leading developer of 3G femtocells, today announced that they will be demonstrating the UX-Zone(tm) femtocell application at the Symbian Exchange and Exposition 2009 in London’s Earls Court. Intrinsyc’s UX-Zone incorporates femtocell presence triggers from Ubiquisys, changing the appearance of the phone interface automatically as you enter your home or office.
Visitors to the Symbian Exchange will be able to see smartphones automatically switching themes to reflect the phone's location. For instance when arriving “home” (represented by a home femtocell), the phone switches to the femtocell and a "Home" theme instantly appears. The home theme does not just look different; it has new icons for high bandwidth entertainment services like video streaming, social networking and home network integration, taking advantage of the fast, low-cost data provided by the femtocell.
On leaving home (represented at the show by a second femtocell), the interface returns to normal, and the icons for high bandwidth applications that may not be suitable for the outside network disappear.
The application means that smartphones can now be simultaneously tuned for home, mobile, work and leisure environments. It also allows the mobile operator to brand each experience. From a user perspective, the femtocell enables the application to operate automatically, without any buttons to press or passwords to enter.
